Huge wind turbines at Eemshaven
Friday, June 15, 2012
Soon in the Eemshaven two huge wind turbines
will be erected from the type Repower 6 M (6.15 MW). This
type of windmill is mainly used for offshore wind farms far outside
the German and Dutch coasts. Because of further research, testing
and development of offshore wind turbines, two wind turbines will
be placed on land in the Eemshaven at windmillsite “Westereems” of
RWE / Essent. One of the windmills will be placed on the property
of Wagenborg Stevedoring.
Last week the two Repower turbines arrived by
vessel in Eemshaven with mv Mississippiborg of Wagenborg Shipping.
With assistance of a large crane crawler (750 ton capacity) from
Wagenborg Nedlift all components of the wind turbines could be
unloaded.
In the next weeks the assembly and
installation of the windmills will take place with one of Europe’s
largest cranes.
