Transformers on the move
In November 2007, Wagenborg Nedlift arranged the transport of
two heavy transformers, 330 and 266 tonnes, from Linz (Austria) to
the foundation at substation Diele (Germany). To reach the site of
substation Diele, a bridge had to be passed that could not carry
the huge weight of these transformers. Wagenborg Nedlift took care
of engineering and constructing a special modular temporary steel
bridge construction which was installed across the weak bridge. By
means of skidding, both transformers were moved across the
temporary bridge, thus preventing any forces and transport damage
to the existing bridge. In January 2008, the 2nd phase of this
project was carried out, which was similar to the first phase
