Armanborg Re-launched

The ARMANBORG was re-launched on
saterday 15 August 2009, after being converted at the
Koninklijke Niestern Sander shipyards.
The vessel, originally build at
Wartsila Marine in Helsinki (Finland), has been significantly
refurbished. Amongst other improvements 15 metres has been
added to its length. The vessel has also been newly outfitted with
two main diesel generators of 1257 kW each, a bridge deck including
a new steering console, a capped bow, a towing winch of 40 ton line
pull and 75 ton brake holding power and a deck crane of 44 ton/m
with 18.5 metres outreach.
The vessel is planned to be delivered
to Wagenborg Kazakhstan in Delfzijl mid September as a Tug / Pusher
with unrestricted navigation, Ice Class 1A, special service
Icebreaker.
Once delivered she will be mobilized
to the Caspian Sea via the so called 'Northern Route', via St.
Petersburg and the Russian Inland waters (Volgo-Balt). Upon
delivery in Bautino (Kazakhstan) she will start performing services
for the Kashagan development program.
