Derrick Modifications and Inspections
Modifications and inspections of offshore drilling rigs are a
growing share in the Wagenborg Foxdrill activities. We are involved
in a lot of changes to improve the performance of drilling systems
worldwide.
Typical projects include:
– Exchanging crown blocks and crown-mounted compensation
systems
– Extending drilling rigs
– Strengthening drilling rigs
– Exchanging topdrive systems
– Exchanging pipe-handling systems
– Exchanging bolts
– Installing heat shields or wind protection
An ingenious rigging system that was developed in-house is our
so called ultra light rigging system. By use of this system large
cranes and crane ships are no longer needed during the exchange of
heave compensators, crown sheaves or crown blocksof drilling rigs
on semi-submersibles and drilling ships. With this system our
expert team is far ahead of our competitors.
Wagenborg Foxdrill also carries out complete drilling rig
inspections, DOS (Dropped Object Survey), and other inspections. We
go beyond simply providing advice, with our developed means we
quickly and safely remedy every problem and prevent a possible
hazard to employees or unwanted interruptions of an operation.
