Onshore & Offshore Rig Moving
Our main area of expertise is to move drilling rigs and drilling
platforms. We also provide logistical services to drilling
contractors or oil companies, both onshore and offshore.
Disassembly, transport, and assembly is carried out quickly,
safely, and professionally, whilst the non-productive time of the
drilling rig is kept to an absolute minimum.
Wagenborg Foxdrill assembled its first drilling rig in The
Netherlands, and since then its sphere of operations has expanded
to Europe, the Middle East, and former Soviet Republics.
Each removal is described in a so-called Rigmove Manual, which
details the locations, transport, working methods and procedures.
Experience with previous projects is used as the input for the next
project. The Rigmove Manuals are constantly amended, which results
in better projects from time to time.
Our personnel is in permanent employment and represents a rare
amount of experience and expertise. Many of our people have been
working together for many years, which makes the experience
acquired during the removal of the different drilling rigs a shared
experience.
We use state-of-the-art equipment, cranes and transport units
for all our projects. Most of this equipment is Wagenborg owned. If
projects take place overseas, we use the expertise of Wagenborg
Shipping and other reliable partners to make sure that every step
is controlled. A true door-to-door service.
Land Rigs on Artificial Islands
In Kazakhstan we move land rigs between specially created
artificial islands. An ice-strengthened pontoon with a minimum
draught of 1.80 metres is sunk to a specially designed plateau of
sand and stones. On top of this we place a land rig for
exploitation/production.
Wagenborg Kazakhstan moves these pontoons to new drilling sites
by using the Ice Breaking Supply Vessels (IBSV) and the Shallow
Draft Tugs (SDT).
