Towage Services
Wagenborg Offshore has excellent equipment for exceptional
transports over sea and inland waterways. Besides their use in the
Caspian Sea and the Don-Volga canal, one of the SDTs is extremely
suitable for tug services on the Russian inland waterways. Our team
is dedicated to on-site tug services that are designed especially
for that environment.

Shallow Draft Tug
(SDT)
The Shallow Draft Tugs, with a draft of 1.65 mtrs and an engine
capacity of 2 x 675 hp, were developed especially for tug work in
shallow water. The SDTs are used to tug cargo pontoons between the
drilling sites and the provisioning base. They are equipped with a
crane, and therefore the SDTs can also be used for anchor handling
or maintaining beacons.
The SDTs are used regularly to assist during the installation of
drilling platforms/objects. As a result of their limited ice
strengthening, these ships mainly have access to the northern part
of the Caspian Sea outside the winter season.
Ice-classed Barges
(ICB)
The Ice-classed Barges are cargo
pontoons with a similar ice-strengthening as the IBSVs. They are
designed to transport a range of cargo, including
- cuttings, drilling sludge;
- bulk cargo, cement/barite;
- mud, lubrication from drill and
disposal of drilling sludge;
- oil-contaminated water;
- fuel.
These unmanned cargo pontoons do
not have their own propulsion, which makes them relatively light
but with a large deadweight.
