Reining wins Lean and Green Award
Friday, May 20, 2011
On behalf of Connekt program “Sustainable
Logistics” CEO Leo van Wijk has published 28 winners of the Lean
and Green Award 2011. 24 leading companies and 4 local governments
received the award for their CO2 targets in the field of logistics,
with a reduction of at least 20% to be realised in 5 years.
Reining has been investing in its
environmental strategy for more than 5 years now. Over these years
many technical and behavioural improvements have reduced our CO2
emission by about 35%. In the near future, Reining expects to be
able to make further improvements in the field of load occupancy
and by using intermodal solutions. Next to that, Reining will
invest in trucks with a higher transport capacity. Mid 2010 the
first LZV (Ecocombi) has been put into operation.
