Olympic Games – Vancouver –
Vancouverborg…
That MV Vancouverborg, named after the Canadian city Vancouver,
is emphasizing the Olympic feeling is obvious. The Olympic rings,
the symbol of unity and a sporty get together of all continents,
have been applied to the bow of the vessel.
While the 9600 ton vessel was in Gdynia for some repairs, the
crew, together with Vaasaborg’s crew -also attending the Polish
yard- were glued to the television on February 13th.
Together with millions of Dutch onlookers they witnessed how Sven
Kramer received the gold medal after winning the five
kilometers.
For the duration of the Games, the Olympic rings will grace the
132 meter long Vancouverborg.
