Projects & Newbuilding
The Projects and Newbuilding Department was
founded in 1998 by Royal Wagenborg.
The objective of the Projects and Newbuilding
Department is to help and assist the various maritime related
divisions within Royal Wagenborg to keep and strengthen their
position as a leader. To achieve this Projects and Newbuilding
Department strives to be an expert knowledge centre with regard to
the development of maritime related projects.
Projects and Newbuilding Department supports
the various divisions within Royal Wagenborg (Shipping, Offshore,
Towage and Passenger Ferries) and external clients with respect to
maritime related projects. The newbuilding or conversion projects
benefit from our wide experience and extensive network, in all
stages from yard selection through negotiations, planning and
reporting to delivery and claims handling.
Main activities can be defined as:
- making a design and technical specification
in order to meet the customers’ requirements and comply with
international regulation;
- feasibility studies of designs/
specifications supplied by customers and/ or shipyards;
- research studies into new technologies and
designs;
- assessment, selection and evaluation of
equipment suppliers and shipyards;
- new building supervision;
- follow up during the guarantee period;
- maintain a feedback loop to incorporate
‘lessons-learnt’ into new designs.
