Windpark Westereems Eemshaven

In Eemshaven, at the north coast of Holland, a huge onshore wind park, called Windpark Westereems, is arising. The park consists of 52 windmills of 3 MW each with a total height of 140 meters. Wagenborg takes care of the logistics of the windmills on behalf of the German main contractor of the project. The concrete parts for the towers are transported by inland vessel from Emden port to Wagenborg Eemshaven terminal, where 10.000 m2 of storage space is available for the project. At Wagenborg Terminal, offloading of the vessels is done by Wagenborg’s 400 tons crawler crane. In the meanwhile, trucks with blades and turbine parts are arriving at the terminal, where assembly crews are waiting to further assemble these items. When ready, Wagenborg’s heavy transport trailers carry the tower parts, turbines and blades Just-In-Time from the storage/assembly area to the construction site, directly under crane hook.
