For an innovative Walk-to-Work vessel (ERRV) we are looking for an experienced Chief Engineer / DP Maintenance. Are you fully familiar with DP operations, well known with the vessel’s DP FMEA documents and the effects of failures of equipment relating to the position keeping of the vessel? And do you have at least 6 months experience on similar equipment and operations? Then we are looking for you!

 

The Walk-to-Work vessel plays a crucial role in maintenance and servicing offshore platforms in the North Sea. She enables offshore operations to be executed more safely, efficiently, effective, and productive. The vessel allows service and maintenance staff to work on several different platforms during one voyage. Offshore crew embarks and disembarks from the vessel to and from the platform and in case of emergency immediately evacuation is possible. The Walk-to-Work vessel accommodates hotel facilities, workshops, cargo, and spare parts storage and is equipped with a motion-controlled gangway. The ship operates 24 hours 7 days a week in the North Sea.

 

Job description

As Chief Engineer you have appropriate experience and sufficient competence to take charge of a watch in the ER or ECR during DP operations. You understand the DP operational requirements of the vessel, the consequences of failures, and the optimization of the redundancy available in equipment such as power generation, thruster units, network, DP systems (interface, hardware, and software) and computer functions, tests and fault finding. You understand the need for and implement good communications between the bridge and engine control room and have a comprehensive knowledge of the vessel's operations manuals including the FMEA as currently updated. The chief engineer is at assessor level in the setup and use of all DP related systems operated by the technical department. You plan, execute, and lead blackout recovery drills.

You have an excellent command of English, both verbal and in writing. ERRV experience and the possession of relevant OPITO certificate (ITSO) is a pre.
