Heavy cargo for Etzel UGS
In Etzel, near Wilhelmshaven, a new Underground Gas Storage facility is being constructed. For the gas treatment installation, two large absorber vessels must be installed. This week, the first absorber vessel arrived in Wilhelmshaven. Wagenborg Nedlift and Wagenborg Projects & Logistics took care of a smooth transport from Finland up to quayside in Wilhelmshaven.
Wagenborg ‘s MV Lianne was put in position to load the first absorber of 190 tons at the construction yard in Mantyluoto, Finland. After a smooth loading operation, the ship set sail to Wilhelmshaven, Germany. At quayside there, two 500 tons mobile cranes were positioned and upon arrival of MV Lianne, it only took a few hours to offload the precious process equipment. Within some weeks, the second piece will arrive and both vessels will be installed at the UGS Etzel gas facility by Wagenborg Nedlift in due course.
