The giants, with an internal diameter of respectively 12 meters (height 10meters,1131 m3) and 10,60 meters (height 12 meters, 1059 m3) were placed on a sea-going pontoon and transported to Delfzijl.

In the Oosterhorncanal the tanks were placed  on a roller 9 by the Demag AC500 for further transport to the plant. A 500 ton Liebherr LTN1500 from Boekestijn lifted them off the roller. A 55 ton DEMAG AC155, assisted by a 200 ton LTM1200-1 Liebherr, took over and placed the tanks on the foundation.

North Refinery, specialist in regenerating polluted oil, started this year with the build of a lube distillate unit. The four tanks will be part of this project. The capacity of this installation, regenerating used oil into a new lubricant, amounts to 80.000 ton per annum. This installation can also produce MDO (marine diesel oil) complying with all the international standards.
