Turbine transport to NAM Schoonebeek

Construction of the new Combined Heat Powerplant at NAM Schoonebeek is going quite fast. Last week, another special shipment of heavy cargo destined for the project was carried out. A turbine of 204 tons and a 175 tons generator were delivered on site by Wagenborg Nedlift. The pieces were transported from Rotterdam to the port of Coevorden by inland water vessel. Two large mobile cranes lifted the equipment carefully from the ship onto the multi-wheel trailers of Wagenborg Nedlift. The convoy then slowly drove via the small roads to the SRT site.

Some other power unit equipment destined for the CHP will arrive by truck later on. A second lot of equipment parts will be shipped in June.
