The bridge, consisting of two parts weighing 700 ton each, was removed by two Wagenborg Nedlift SPMT’s, each equipped with 20 axle lines.

A week prior to this switch, a perfect roadway was constructed consisting of about 500 Azobe plates. Saturday night, the road was closed off in order to divide the two bridge parts. The first part was moved at 22:00 hrs. Before the second part could be moved, the contractor had to slide the bridge part sideways first. This task was completed Sunday-night after which this second part could be moved by the SPMT and taken to the place where the old bridge parts will be demolished. The new bridge parts were slid into place by the contractor after which the new bridge was provided with new asphalt on Monday morning, ready to be put into use.
