On April 30th, Renata Smith christenened building number 567407 in Yichang, China. The christening of the vessel was accompanied by Chinese ceremony and fireworks.





Commissioning the built was Rederij Smith, Assen. This 12.000 ton vessel, geared with two 80 ton deck-cranes, will trade as IJsselborg. Her home-port will be Delfzijl. The launching from the 120 metres long slipway at the waterfront of the Jangtsekiang,  took place a few days after the christening.

The vessel is on her way to Shanghai now where the built will be completed and trial-runs will take place.
