Last Saturday, an extraordinary transport took place at Philips in Maarheeze, NL. A complete factory building where raw materials for led lights are fabricated was relocated about 500 meters. The construction was located at a site that was planned for other purposes and it therefore had to be removed. Dismantling of the installation and rebuilding it again at the new location was an option, but would cost a lot of time and money and cause a long downtime. Not a very attractive option for the customer. However, project managers of Wagenborg Nedlift knew the solution: the whole building could be relocated in one time, with the right steel supports and transport equipment. A one day operation, so the factory could be operational quickly again. Of course, the client liked this solution a lot. The complete construction of 16x9 meters, 20 meters high, was lifted from its foundation, transported 500 meters and then carefully put on its new foundations again. A fine piece of expertise and custom made solutions!
