During the past weeks, Wagenborg Nedlift’s 750 tons crawler crane worked at the new powerplant construction site in Wilhelmshaven. A giant tower crane, positioned on the 102 meter high roof of the boiler building, had to be disassembled and removed. The highest part of the tower crane was 140 meters high and had a weight of 20 tons. The 750 tons crawler therefore was equipped with 70 meters main boom and 98 meters luffing jib in order to lift the tower crane parts from the roof. After finishing this, the crane assisted with finalizing the roof construction of the boiler building. Last year, Nedlift already carried out several special transports to the Wilhelmshaven site. (See http://www.wagenborg.com/en/divisions/wagenborg-nedlift/news/2010/february/wagenborg-to-wilhelmshaven.aspx ).The power plant will start up in 2012.
