On the production site of Ferus Smit GmbH in Leer, Germany the launching of the m.v. Reestborg is scheduled for Friday, 25th of January at 11.00 hours.

This launching promises to become a splash of huge proportions, as the Reestborg is by far the largest ship ever built at Ferus Smit. With a length of 170 m., breadth of 20.4 m. and 23,000 deadweight tons carrying capacity the ship is nearing the maximum dimensional limits that can be built at the Leer production site. The spectacular sideways launching of a ship this size (over 5,000 tons of launching weight) will be a unique event that has never been seen before in northern shipbuilding.

The m.v. Reestborg is planned for delivery during March 2013.
