During the last weekend of April, 2016, Wagenborg’s latest Tadano ATF 400G-6 performed her first job: lifting and positioning a temporary bus bridge. Said bridge was positioned on the route between Park & Ride Hoogkerk and Central in Groningen (the Netherlands). Many people witnessed this special event.
The temporary modular bridge consists of several components. Eight of these parts (measuring 32 meters long, 3,5 meters wide and weighing 45 tonnes each), were transported from Kolham to their final location: the Paterswoldseweg in Groningen. During the operation, the Paterswoldseweg was blocked for traffic.
On Sunday, 1st of May, 2016 the last part of the bridge was placed. As from Monday, 2nd of May, the bus route is open for busses. The bus bridge will be replaced by an underpass in 2018.
