Recently, Wagenborg transported 7 skids from Krimpen aan den IJssel (the Netherlands) to Damen Shipyards (Schiedam, the Netherlands) for Frames Group. The skids, varying in size (up to 15,2 meter long, 8,9 meters wide and up to 8,4 meters in height and weight (up to 220 tonnes) are destined for mv Petrojarl 1.
After weighing them one by one, Wagenborg transshipped the skids from the production hall upon the pontoon. After the four heaviest skids were transshipped by SPMT’s, the water transport to Schiedam could start.
A view days later the other three skids were loaded upon the pontoon by mobile cranes and also transported to Schiedam.
Petrojarl 1 is an FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel), a special type of vessel which is used to save and/or treat petroleum and natural gas. Currently the Petrojarl 1 is in dry-dock in Schiedam, to be converted to produce crude oil in Atlanta near Brazil. The skids transported by Wagenborg are needed to get the vessel prepared for the planned activities.
