Every once in a while Wagenborg receives special requests which get the attention and interest of all employees. Last week we received such a request.

A supplier of SPMT’s approached us with the question whether we could load two 6 Axle SPMT modules into an Iljoesjin aircraft at Maastricht Airport. These modules were destined for Russia. Normally one would think that transport per truck or vessel is much cheaper, but since the modules where required on an extremely short notice and their destination was north of Vladivostok on the west coast of Russia, transport per plane turned out to be the only realistic option. Unfortunately there was only cargo space for two modules. With an additional powerpack the aircraft would have been overloaded. Therefore the powerpack was shipped with a liner aircraft from Schiphol and Wagenborg was requested to supply a powerpack and two operators to drive the SPMT modules via a dedicated ramp into the aircraft. The entire project was organized within a day and performed to the full satisfaction of our client.
