Last week Wagenborg once again provided a transport of 3 tripods for Offshore Wind Farm "Global Tech 1".
Last Monday we started early with the mooring of the pontoon alongside the quay. All preparations were made to load the pontoon with 3 tripods. Sufficient ballast capacity during the load-out was essential because the tripods are weighing 1.000 tons each. No fewer than 8 heavy-duty pumps pumped 3000m3/hour.
The load out of the tripods went perfectly after which the sea lashing could start. At the same time the pontoon was ballasted for seagoing conditions.
Later on in that week the tugs Waterstraat and Waterstroom were mobilized to pick up the loaded pontoon in Emden, Germany. On the same day the transport arrived in the Eemshaven and was positioned between the quay and the jackup barge 'Innovation'. Sealashes were removed and - after a toolbox - the lifting operations could start. Thanks to the good communcations between the heavy lift supervisor and the Wagenbrog supervisor and bargemaster, the lift off was a great success.
Wagenborg showed once again, that thanks to the professional employees and excellent equipment, Wagenborg is an excellent partner for complete and complex transportation projects.
