Last week, maritime traffic in Eastern part of the Netherlands was seriously obstructed by an accident at the lock complex in Eefde. A 90 tons lock gate fell down, with unknown cause. Recovery works were started up quickly and Wagenborg Nedlift assisted with two mobile cranes, each 200 tons capacity. The cranes lifted the second lock gate, so the ship stuck in the lock could leave its narrow position.
Due to the obstruction of the Twente Canal, many inland water vessels could not transport their cargo to their final destination. Wagenborg Nedlift assisted with cranes to transship containers from the vessels onto trucks, so cargo could be delivered with a minimum of delay.
