Successful Subsea Cable Shipment from Greece to the Netherlands by Wagenborg's Nassauborg

Royal Wagenborg announces the successful offshore transport of a full set of Inter Array Cables from Greece to the Netherlands using its versatile general cargo vessel Nassauborg. This milestone highlights Wagenborg’s dedication to delivering reliable, cost-effective transport solutions for complex offshore energy projects worldwide.

Nassauborg: a versatile vessel for subsea cable transport

The Nassauborg is purpose-outfitted to handle demanding subsea cable transport assignments. With three static tanks—optionally four—the vessel safely accommodates cables with an outer diameter of up to 18.5 meters, thanks to an adjustable matching MCD cable inner diameter. This flexibility makes the Nassauborg ideally suited for transporting a wide range of offshore subsea cables, including Inter Array and Fiber Optic cables.

Complete offshore transport and load-Out scope

Equipped with dedicated loading and discharging equipment onboard—including bow cable engines, loading towers, and coiling arms—the Nassauborg offers a complete transport and load-out scope. This configuration enables fast mobilization with minimal downtime, saving both time and costs for our offshore clients. When feasible, dual loading and discharging operations further increase efficiency and reduce port time.

Expertise in offshore project management

Behind every successful subsea cable transport is Wagenborg’s highly skilled team and vessel crew. Our on-site project manager, HSEQ supervisor and cargo superintendent ensure that every shipment runs smoothly and safely. From careful planning and secure coiling to precise stowage and discharge, our people deliver top performance at every stage.
