Two lock gates successfully positioned in the Eemshaven basin for testing
Another significant milestone has been reached in the Brunsbüttel lock gate project at Eemshaven. The final two massive lock gates—previously transported from Emden to Eemshaven on the pontoon Wagenborg Barge 11—have now been lifted from the barge and placed in the water for testing. This marks the next phase in a highly complex and carefully orchestrated infrastructure project that highlights Wagenborg’s expertise in heavy transport and lifting operations.
Continued progress on lock gate transports in Emden
This week, another step was taken in the transport of the new lock gates for the port infrastructure project in Brunsbüttel. Following the first controlled RoRo operation in 2025, the second and third gates have now also been driven onto a pontoon in the port of Emden. With this, a phased and carefully engineered operation moves into its next stage.
Wagenborg executes urgent transport from Genemuiden (NL) to Lindø (DK)
Just before Christmas, Wagenborg received a request to transport two tools including frames by barge from Genemuiden to Lindø, Denmark. The loading date of January 7, 2026, was already fixed when the assignment was confirmed.
