New construction milestone for Wagenborg’s EasyMax 2.0
Wagenborg has reached a new milestone in the construction of her first fuel flex EasyMax 2.0 vessel. On 19 June, two additional ring sections — ring 2 and ring 3 — were successfully transported at shipyard Royal Niestern Sander in Delfzijl by means of self propelled modular trailers (SPMTs).
The transport of these sections marks a next step in the gradual build-up of the hull. Each ring section represents a complete structural segment of the vessel, and their relocation to the quay signals that fabrication has been completed and assembly of the ship is progressing steadily.
The construction of the EasyMax 2.0 continues to move forward in close cooperation between Wagenborg and Niestern Sander. This collaboration ensures clear planning, alignment in execution and consistent progress throughout the building process.
In the coming period, the project will move into its next phase, with the transport of the aft ship scheduled in the near future. This will further shape the vessel and bring the first EasyMax 2.0 closer to completion.
Building on a proven concept
The EasyMax 2.0 series builds on the proven success of the EasyMax concept within the Wagenborg fleet. The new generation is designed with fuel-flexible capabilities and prepared for future fuels, supporting the company’s long-term ambitions in sustainable and reliable maritime transport.
