Wagenborg and Stegra partner to develop the green steel supply chain
Wagenborg and Stegra have entered into a multi-year agreement covering the shipments of steel products and raw materials annually between the Baltic region and Europe. The agreement marks the start of a collaboration aimed at developing efficient and reliable logistics solutions for the emerging green steel value chain.
As one of Europe's most ambitious industrial projects, Stegra is building an integrated green hydrogen, iron and steel production facility in Boden, northern Sweden. Reliable logistics are a critical component of bringing near zero emission steel products to customers across Europe.
Stegra selected Wagenborg based on its extensive experience in industrial shipping, its versatile fleet, strong ice-class capabilities, and its ability to scale transport capacity in line with future production growth.
