Wagenborg executes urgent transport from Genemuiden (NL) to Lindø (DK)
Just before Christmas, Wagenborg received a request to transport two tools including frames by barge from Genemuiden to Lindø, Denmark. The loading date of January 7, 2026, was already fixed when the assignment was confirmed.
After several calls to check the availability of equipment and partners during the holiday period, the project could be accepted. Engineering was immediately initiated, and the required sea-fastening steel was ordered. The Wagenborg Barge 1, which had just completed a previous job, was mobilized and reconfigured for this transport.
Despite winter conditions, the cargo was loaded in Genemuiden using Wagenborg cranes, after which welders carried out the sea-fastening work. The barge team prepared the pontoon for sailing, enabling the transport to depart on schedule for IJmuiden. Upon arrival in IJmuiden, the tug Waterman the barge and continued the voyage to Lindø via sea. Project manager Wouter Siemerink:
It was a matter of quick coordination between engineering, equipment, and partners to meet the tight schedule.
The transport is expected to arrive in Lindø tomorrow.
