Borkum Riffgrund 2 project halfway
Recently the tugboats Waterman and Waterstroom again entered Eemshaven with a full load of monopiles and transition pieces for the Borkum Riffgrund II project. With this sixth shipment, the project is now halfway.
Early March, the first heavy components have been transhipped from Wagenborg pontoons on the jack-up vessel Vole au Vent of Jan de Nul Group. After this, the offshore installation vessel finished the installation of these first monopiles for the Ørsted offshore wind farm Borkum Riffgrund 2.
The monopiles and transition pieces are manufactured in Nordenham, Germany. In total Wagenborg will transport 36 monopiles, 36 transition pieces and 36 anode cases from Nordenham to the Eemshaven.
