Wagenborg starts new shipping agency in Sweden

As of January 1st 2022, Wagenborg Agencies Sweden is operational to offer full agency services in all Swedish ports.

Karlsborg, Luleå, Haraholmen and Skellefteåhamn

With Wagenborg’s leading position in the shipping and logistics market – including the Swedish market - the expansion of agency services to Sweden is a valuable addition to Wagenborg’s network of serviced ports. The main focus of the Swedish agency office will be the northern ports such as Karlsborg, Luleå, Haraholmen and Skellefteåhamn. In addition, agency services can be provided in all other Swedish ports from north to south. In these Swedish ports Wagenborg can be contacted 24/7 year-round for agency services ensuring a quick turnaround for ships in these ports. On a yearly basis about 300 port calls can be expected in these ports.

The team of shipping agents exists of Viktor Ivarsson and Fred Sternå. They will primarily service Wagenborg vessels in Sweden including the roro vessels Balticborg and Bothniaborg. They explain: “Wagenborg used to outsource the agency services in Sweden. Now we will do that ourselves. In addition, other ships can also contact us with their port calls.” In close cooperation with Wagenborg Shipping Sweden AB in Malmö and Wagenborg Agencies Terneuzen Viktor and Fred will also book southbound cargo onto these roro ships.

Think global, act local

With the new Swedish agency office Wagenborg again demonstrates her 'think global, act local' way of working. "Our presence in Sweden means that our customers can be assured that our shipping agents have the local knowledge and industry expertise to find the best solution to cater for their needs", explains Bengt Meuller (Managing Director Shipping Sweden AB).

Wagenborg Agencies also services several European ports from her branch offices in Tarragona, Algeciras and Ceuta (Spain), Kotka/Hamina (Finland) and Delfzijl, Eemshaven, Rotterdam region, Amsterdam region and Terneuzen region (the Netherlands).
