Four CO₂ tanks loaded for Carbon Destroyer 1

This week marks an important milestone in the development of the Carbon Destroyer 1, the innovative CO₂ carrier currently under construction at shipyard Royal Niestern Sander in Delfzijl. In Harelbeke, Belgium, four large CO₂ tanks were successfully loaded onto two inland vessels. These tanks are essential components of the carrier’s storage system and will enable the vessel to transport captured CO₂ safely and efficiently.

Mobilisation of Van Oord’s Boreas completed at Wagenborg Terminal Eemshaven

The Wagenborg terminal in Eemshaven once again proved its strategic value in the offshore energy sector. Van Oord’s Boreas—the largest offshore wind installation vessel in its fleet—was demobilised at the terminal following successful operations at the North Sea Cluster. Currently, preparations began for the vessel’s next assignment: the Hollandse Kust West project, where Boreas will install monopiles in the North Sea. Wagenborg is supporting this mobilisation project with a variety of assets and crews.

Lock gate successfully positioned in Eemshaven basin for testing

A significant step was taken in the Brunsbüttel lock gate project in Eemshaven. The massive lock gate, previously transported from Emden to Eemshaven aboard the Wagenborg Barge 10 pontoon, was successfully lifted from the barge and positioned into the water for testing. This operation marks the next phase in a complex and carefully coordinated infrastructure project that showcases Wagenborg’s expertise in heavy transport and lifting.

Lock gate successfully transported from Emden to Eemshaven

Following the successful RoRo loading operation of a massive lock gate in Emden earlier this month, Wagenborg has now completed the next milestone in this complex infrastructure project. Today, the lock gate was safely transported from Emden to Eemshaven aboard the Wagenborg Barge 10.
