International vessels divert to Delfzijl for full service port call and maintenance

Jan De Nul and BBC Chartering utilize Wagenborg’s private berths and full-service support, ensuring capacity and continuity in the North Sea region.

On December 4, the Jan De Nul vessel Kaishuu called at the Port of Delfzijl for a complete range of services, including bunkering, waste disposal, and crew change. The vessel, which usually calls at Eemshaven, diverted to Delfzijl due to limited berth availability. Wagenborg coordinated the transfer and provided all required services.

Shortly after, BBC Chartering’s BBC Wisconsin berthed at the same terminal for a scheduled maintenance period. Both vessels are making use of Wagenborg’s private berths and integrated port services.

The choice for Delfzijl reflects the operational need for flexibility in a congested maritime corridor. Wagenborg operates two dedicated terminals in Delfzijl and Eemshaven, enabling capacity management and continuity for customers. Services include agency support, customs handling, waste management, and crew assistance.

Combining two private terminals with a full-service package allows us to respond quickly when schedules change. That responsiveness is critical in a market where delays can have immediate impact on supply chains.

The Kaishuu has completed its port call, while maintenance on the BBC Wisconsin is progressing according to plan. Wagenborg continues to deploy both terminals to ensure reliable options for vessels operating in the North Sea region.
