Wagenborg fleet is visiting West African ports more and more regularly

Currently, various geared Wagenborg vessels are making voyages related to West Africa, which illustrates the emergence of West Africa as a trading area for Wagenborg.

The MV Aragonborg has loaded cokes in South America, destined for Owendo in Gabon. The MV Amazoneborg is sailing to Abidjan in Ivory Coast to load concentrates for the Saint Lawrence, while the MV IJborg is currently already loading this cargo type in Lüderitz, Namibia.

Earlier this year, Royal Wagenborg has announced to extend the sailing area of her geared MPP fleet to include West Africa. When looking at the current sailing area, this extension was a logical next step. Significant synergies can be seen between the fleet, existing key industries and the opportunities in the region. The recent voyages of the IJborg, Amazoneborg and Aragonborg prove this ambition in practice.

From Senegal up to Cameroon

During the last months Wagenborg started to work on a strategic extension of her sailing area to include West-Africa. When looking at the current sailing area, the extension is a logical next step. Significant synergies can be seen between our fleet, existing key industries and the opportunities in the region. The regional development will be focused on the area from Senegal upto Cameroon, but specifically excluding Nigeria (for safety reasons) and from a fleet perspective on the 8.000t and larger vessel sizes.
