Founded in 1898, Royal Wagenborg is an international maritime logistics conglomerate. The family owned and managed company offers a variety of maritime services with regard to shipping, ports & terminals and offshore services. Managed out of the Delfzijl (NL) headquarters, Wagenborg has built a global commercial network. In line to be the leading multi-purpose shipping company, Wagenborg renewed her long-term sustainability objectives, which we aim to achieve by 2030. The objectives support the UN Sustainable Development Goals to which we can most contribute and will help to guide us in prioritizing our sustainability-related effort and work.
Founding father Egbert Wagenborg settled ashore and started a small, but successful concern in the area of shipping, towage and passenger services.
With a large fleet of coasters and difficulty to find inspiration for new ship names, Wagenborg decides to name the ships after rivers with the extension "borg" added on.
A change of management takes place as the fourth generation Wagenborg are appointed directors of Wagenborg.
With the establishment of an office in Malmö and Montréal, Wagenborg is globally expanding.

Wagenborg completes an important period of 15 years of shipbuilding at several shipyards resulting in over 100 vessels between 8.000 and 21.000 DWT with the highest Finnish Ice Class.
Wagenborg won the Maritime Shipping Award with her vessel type EasyMax, a leader in terms of sustainability with a load capacity of 14,300 DWT and a very low fuel consumption.
“Wagenborg was one of the players we were using for the spot deliveries, and we noticed they were very punctual – delivering in the right place at the right time. They also have a modern fleet and a strong focus on sustainability, so it was a logical partnership for UPM.”
