Ballast water systems for eight 6.000 DWT vessels
Since the Ballast Water Management Convention went into force in September last year, various vessels in the Wagenborg fleet have been equipped with a ballast water management system. With a recent order, eight vessels will be added to this list: Maasborg, Dagna, Westborg, Sydborg, Marietje Nora, Marietje Marsilla, Terschelling and Vlieland.
These 6.000 DWT vessels will be equipped with a Headway Oceanguard ballast water treatment system, which uses electro catalysis. This type of ballast water treatment system is considered a good choice for these vessels because of a.o. the small footprint and low maintenance.
The 8 systems will be installed in 2020 at shipyard Royal Niestern Sander.
