Capacity LNG terminal secures energy supply

In March 2022, the Dutch government and Gasunie investigated how the import capacity for LNG in the Netherlands could be increased in the short term. This in view of the geopolitical developments that are currently taking place in Europe and the increased pressure from governments on security of energy supply. The first concrete step is a floating LNG terminal in Eemshaven. With the floating terminal, an additional 4 to 5 billion cubic meters (in natural gas) can be imported annually.
