Wagenborg provides safe haven for ‘Fremantle Highway’ upon arrival in Eemshaven

On Thursday, August 3, around 2:30 p.m., the Fremantle Highway arrived safely in Julianahaven in Eemshaven with the assistance of several Wagenborg tugboats, among others. The process went according to plan. Now that the ship is moored at the Wagenborg terminal, the next steps will be determined. This will be discussed by the parties involved in the following days.

The Fremantle Highway, the cargo vessel on which a fire broke out on the night of Tuesday, July 25, 2023, was towed to Eemshaven on Thursday, August 3. The Eemshaven has been designated by the Ministry of Infrastructure & Water Management as a so-called Port of Refuge, which is seen as a port of call for ships in distress.
